UConn Early College Experience

UConn Early College Experience (UConn ECE) is a concurrent enrollment program that allows motivated high school students to take UConn courses at their high schools for both high school and college credit. Every course taken through UConn ECE is equivalent to the same course at the University of Connecticut. Students enrolled in ECE French receive UConn credits for FREN 3250 and 3268, two courses required for the French major and minor. Moreover, UConn Early College Experience credits successfully transfer to other colleges and universities at a rate of 87%.

Every Fall, eight high schools send teams of their students to participate in conversation groups with Graduate Assistants in our program, and in a Quiz Bowl on French and Francophone culture.

Every Spring, the high school teachers in the program gather for a one-day workshop on curriculum, teaching methodology and academic research.
