Sept. 9: Add/Drop via Student Administration System closes. Last day to place courses on Pass/Fail (Undergraduate students only)

Sept. 16: Last day for students to make up Incomplete or Absence grades

Sept. 20: LCL Workshop: Applying for Fellowships with Professors Anke Finger and Alexis Boylan ( ?)

Sept. 17-23: Examinations for course credit by examination

Sept. 24: Dean’s signature required to add courses

 

October

October 4: LCL Workshop: Preparing Materials for Academic Job Application

October 4: Mid-semester progress reports due to students from faculty

October 21: Registration for Spring 2020 semester opens via Student Admin

October 28: Last day to drop a course. Last day to convert courses on Pass/Fail option to letter grade (Undergraduate students only)

 

November

November 1: Graduate Certificate in Human Rights deadline for Spring 2020 graduation

November 2: LANGSA conference “Imagining Landscape”

November 15: Graduate Certificate in College Instruction deadline for January 2020 admission

November 15: LCL Workshop “Mock Interviews”

November 24 – 30: Thanksgiving recess

November 29: Last day to defend a master or doctoral thesis for Fall 2019 conferral. Last day to submit thesis/dissertation final copies to Digital Commons and related paperwork to The Graduate School for conferral of a Fall 2019 degree. It is recommended that students defend at least two weeks prior to this deadline to allow for revisions. Defense must be announced two weeks prior to defending.

 

December

December 6: Last day of fall semester classes

December 9-15: Final examinations

December 18: Deadline for submitting fall grades via Student Admin. Semester grades are due at 4 pm.

December 27 : Last day for Plan B master’s students to submit final exam paperwork to Degree Audit in the Office of the Registrar (Graduate students only)

 

January

January 9-12: MLA in Seattle, Washington

January 21: Spring semester begins

January 27: Last day to file petitions for course credit by examination

 

February

February 1: Deadline for UCONN Humanities Institute (UCHI) Dissertation Scholars Fellowship Application

February 3: Add/drop via Student Admin closes, courses dropped after this date will have a ‘W’. Last day to convert course to ‘Pass/Fail’

February 10 : Last day for Plan B master’s students to submit final exam paperwork to Degree Audit in the Office of the Registrar (Graduate students only)

February 14 : Deadline to apply for graduation and to submit Final Plan of Study for conferral of a Spring 2020 degree

February 18 : Dean’s signature required to add courses

February 28 : Mid-semester progress reports due to students from faculty

 

March

March 15-21: Spring Break

March 23: Registration for the Summer 2020 sessions and Fall 2020 semester via Student Administration System begins

March 30: Last day to drop a course or convert to pass/fail

 

April

April 1: Graduate Certificate in College Instruction deadline for August 2020 admission

April 12: Last day to announce an oral defense of a doctoral dissertation for conferral of a Spring 2020 degree

April 24: Last day to submit thesis and dissertation final copies to Open Commons and related paperwork to Degree Audit in the Office of the Registrar for conferral of a Spring 2020 degree. It is recommended that students defend at least two weeks prior to this deadline to allow for revisions. Defense must be announced two weeks prior to defending. (Graduate students only)

May 9: The Graduate School Master’s commencement ceremony

May 11: Doctoral Commencement Ceremony
