The German Program at UConn regularly engages in outreach across the state of Connecticut and beyond, with ties to many High School German programs. The German faculty maintains strong ties with the Goethe Institutes in Boston and New York and with the German Consulate General in Boston. Every semester, authors, scholars, and general speakers from these and other institutions visit the campus to give talks and engage with students interested in German and European cultures.

Through the Eurotech program, strong ties also exist with German companies in Connecticut, and many students in the program embark on internships at these companies. Sometimes, internships lead to work experiences abroad since Connecticut’s sister state in Germany is Baden-Württemberg.
