Funding for Graduate Students

Most M.A. and Ph.D. students are funded through Teaching Assistantships; a self-funded track is also possible. Students can also obtain further funding through competitive fellowships for dissertation research. M.A. students complete a program of graduate coursework that culminates in a thesis or examination. Ph.D. students progress through coursework, a qualifying examination, and dissertation research and writing. The program also maintains an exchange program at the University of Limoges, enabling students to teach and study in France.
