The Major Program in Spanish Studies consists of twenty-four 3000 or 4000-level credits in the Section, and an additional twelve 3000-level credits of related courses. Please see your advisor as to the distribution of those courses. Spanish majors are highly recommend to take composition courses early in the career. Culture and literature survey courses should follow. It is important to take courses in both Peninsular and Latin American literature. Students should consult their advisors as to which courses are related. Many students combine a Spanish major with another major in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Students from other schools must complete a dual degree. You may also prepare an individualized program of study by combining courses from two or more departments. Please follow this link to the major plan of study worksheet.
