Charles LeBel

Visiting Assistant Professor


Charles LeBel is a doctoral candidate in Spanish Studies investigating elements of complexity in recent Latin American narrative. Charles is a founding editor of The Quiet Corner Interdisciplinary Journal, and currently teaches Spanish at UConn’s Avery Point campus. His research has been published in the journals alter/nativas and Border-Lines, and he is the translator of several chapters included in the collection Racialization and Language: Interdisciplinary Perspectives from Peru (Routledge, 2019). Charles’s translation of Miguel Gomes’s story “Vocations” is soon to be published in the Winter 2020 issue of World Literature Today.
