The City of Granada The ancient city of Granada was the heart of the Moorish empire. The center of Granada is over 1000 years old, with narrow cobblestone streets and Arabic architecture, and such major monuments as the Alhambra. The city has a population of 250,000 and the University itself has about 30,000 students. The great Spanish cities of Sevilla, M�laga and C�rdoba are nearby, as are the beaches of the Spanish Mediterranean and ski slopes of the Sierra Nevada.
