The Major in French and Francophone Studies

The French major consists of a minimum of 30 semester credit hours at the 3200 level in French. 18 credits from the core courses and 12 credits from one of the specialized track: “French for the Global Community” or “French Cultural and literary studies”. Students must also receive 12 semester credit hours of 3200 level in “related” courses. Study abroad in our Paris program is required (student studying in Paris may earn up to 15 credits towards the French Major).
